NORTH BRANCH— A Crystal man allegedly climbed in bed with his ex-wife, entering her residence without permission and violating an order for protection for the second time in a year.
Christopher Waclaw Laskowski, 48, was charged in Chisago County Court on Feb. 1 for felony burglary in the first degree, felony domestic abuse— violates two or more protection orders within 10 years of previous conviction and gross misdemeanor burglary in the fourth degree.
Laskowski’s bail was set at $100,000. If convicted of both felonies, he faces 25 years imprisonment and/ or a $45,000 fine.
On Jan. 30 at approximately 7 a.m., the victim— who had a order for protection against Laskowski dated June 2009— found him in bed with her at her residence in North Branch.
The victim told officers that he entered her residence without her consent, and the protection order prohibited Laskowski from entering the residence and required Laskowski to “Stay away from a reasonable area surrounding the residence.”
The victim further alleged that she tried to find her car keys and her mobile phone but was unable to as he had hidden them. She told officers that she finally found the phone and dialed 911 at which point he stole from her house a winter coat and a bottle of alcohol without her consent and left the premises.
Officers found Laskowski in a pole barn at a nearby location and arrested him. He was allegedly in possession of the coat and bottle of alcohol.
A review of Chisago County District Court files indicate that Laskowski was convicted of violating the aforementioned order for protection on July 15, 2009, and that he pled guilty on Dec. 7, 2009, to aggravated harassment and stalking. The plea was accepted by Judge Rancourt and is awaiting sentencing on that charge.
Laskowski’s next court appearance is Feb. 16 at 8:30 a.m.
